Regal enables you to reach a global audience with international calling and SMS.

Registering Geos

International contacts are those with a non-US/Canada phone number. 

Before you are able to place international calls or texts, you must first enable the specific geolocation(s). Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to understand how rates differ by country and to enable the geolocation(s) you’re interested in.

How to Dial International Calls

International calls are placed just like a normal call. Be sure to use valid E.164 formatting for the destination phone number, for example [+][country code][subscriber number including area code]. An example of a Mexico number in the E. 164 format is +523346242894.

Dialing from a Local Phone Number vs. US/Canadian Phone Number

Regal supports calling other countries from local numbers or from US/Canadian numbers.

To call or text from a local number, you must have a valid business address in that country. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to register a local number in another country.

When calling an international number from a branded US/Canadian number, recipients will be able to view the branded ID you're selected.

Regal relies on Twilio for provisioning international phone numbers. Calling and SMS capabilities differ by each country. See below.

Dual Functionality (Voice and SMS-enabled) Phone Numbers

Regal phone numbers from the following countries have dual functionality and can be used to make/receive phone calls as well as to send/receive SMS messages.

Please note, all Regal SMS-capable numbers can be used to send one-way SMS to other countries. However, to guarantee two-way messaging (receiving incoming messages from end users), you must use a number from the same country as your recipient. 

Voice-enabled Only Phone Numbers

Regal phone numbers from the following countries are able to make and receive voice calls. 

SMS-enabled Only Phone Numbers

Regal phone numbers from the following countries are able to send and receive SMS. 

Please note, all Regal SMS-capable numbers can be used to send SMS to other countries. However, to guarantee two-way messaging (receiving incoming messages from end users), you must use a number from the same country as your recipient.
